We are a small nursery specializing in the cultivation of perennial herbaceous plants. Of the five hundred or so species we offer, only a few plants are those that cannot overwinter outdoors in continental Croatia.
Since opening the nursery, about fifteen years ago, our goal has been to acquire, propagate, and offer you plants that are rarely found on our market. This was not easy at all and it took a lot of perseverance, work, and knowledge to create such an assortment. You have helped us a lot with your support, suggestions, and wishes. We will continue to strive to maintain this direction.
For many years, we have been cultivating perennial ornamental plants in natural conditions. These are herbaceous perennials, with a special specialization in Hemerocallis (daylilies) and peonies. We also have a nice selection of ornamental grasses.
You may think that the plants grown here are not suitable for continental Croatia. Plants covered in snow survive the winter more easily than in the Adriatic hinterland, where there is generally no snow. The Buzet Valley, in the north of Istria, has very severe frosts with temperatures down to -15 degrees C.
Our plants are exposed to all weather conditions and adversity and of course they are not perfect in appearance. We do not use any protective agents and fertilization of the plants is relatively minimal. All this affects that the seedlings adapt much faster to the new conditions in your garden.
